Tupy receives global award from Volkswagen Group

Joinville (SC) / Brazil – June 2014 – Tupy, the largest world manufacturer of iron blocks and cylinder heads, received the Volkswagen Group Award this year. The trophy was presented in a ceremony with over 250 guests from 28 countries at the Porsche plant, in Leipzig, Germany, and recognized the best global suppliers of all the companies of the Volkswagen Group.
The award honored global suppliers that fulfilled the expectations of product development, innovation capacity, quality and effectiveness serving the group’s different plants. The executives of the German group emphasized the synergy with their supply chain as a basic factor in the search for new technologies and innovations.
About the Volkswagen Award, Fernando Cestari de Rizzo, vice-president of the Automotive Business Unit of Tupy, pointed out: “This recognition strengthens our partnership and shows our commitment to product excellence, delivery and service towards one of our main customers”. Tupy has a long-lasting relationship with Volkswagen, which was one of the first customers of the company in the automotive sector.
Nowadays, a wide range of cast parts equips vehicles produced by the companies of the German group, which acknowledges Tupy as a constant partner for its most challenging projects. Engine blocks and cylinder heads, in addition to other Tupy engineering parts, supplied by the Brazil and Mexico plants, are present in Audi, Porsche and Volkswagen cars, as well as in VW, MAN and Scania trucks and buses all over the world.
