Tupy launches specialization and innovation course in Foundry 4.0
August 28, 2021
Training was custom-made by Senai and will develop concepts of innovation and technology applied to the industry
Tupy, a Brazilian multinational company that designs and manufactures high-complexity geometric and metallurgical structural components in cast iron, is furthering its commitment to innovation and development of its employees by launching the Master In Business Innovation (MBI) in Foundry 4.0 course.
The training, intended exclusively for about 50 employees approved in an internal selection process, is aligned with the company’s innovation and digital transformation strategy. “Adherence to new technologies only brings real value generation when people are involved. These are the ones who have the ability to learn, generate, and share knowledge. And this leads to transformation,” says Fernando de Rizzo, Tupy’s CEO.
Tupy plays an important role in the history of education in the industry, which began with the founding of the Escola Técnica Tupy in 1959. Nowadays, the Company continues this legacy by investing in basic education, technical education, graduation, master’s and doctorate degrees for employees.
MBI is also included in this learning process, which also includes the Escola de Fundição Tupy, an in-house professional training program, which started three years ago. In addition to a general education in Foundry, so that all the Company’s areas become deeply acquainted with the business, there is also a technical course in Metalworking. Now, with the MBI, the professionals will have the opportunity to participate in a specialization in innovation and foundry, totally customized for Tupy processes.
The training is composed of the Strategy, Planning, Leadership for Industry 4.0, Smart Factories, and Business Models and Smart Products modules. The Advanced Manufacturing Applied to Casting final project will be awarded to Lato Senso graduate students. The meetings will be in person and online, with technical visits to factories and concept labs. Starting this month, the first class is expected to graduate in May 2023.
