ShiftT, Tupy’s business generation program for startups, receives registrations for the second cycle until August 31

August 23, 2022

The first round, in 2021, accelerated four businesses from different regions of Brazil. The second cycle also provides opportunities for startups that aim at international expansion or that already operate abroad

ShiftT, Tupy’s startup accelerator, is in the final phase of registrations for its second cycle. In 2022, the company increased the scope of the initiative and opens registrations for Brazilian and international startups. Interested companies can register for free until August 31, on the website.

Among the main highlights of ShifT’s value proposition is the equity-free concept, i.e. entrepreneurs do not need to renounce part of their company to participate in the acceleration process, and the offer of remunerated Proof of Concept (POC). Another ShiftT’s important assumption is the total respect for the intellectual property of the startups and their talents.

It is also worth noting that the companies selected will benefit from the connection with the entire structure of Tupy, a Brazilian multinational company that is a reference in the steelmaking industry with operations in Brazil, Portugal, and Mexico, in addition to other 30 countries. As an example, we can mention Exy, one of the four startups selected in the first cycle that received more than 100 registrations. The company created a wearable exoskeleton that contributes to people’s ergonomics. Supported by ShiftT, it has already carried out its Proofs of Concept in operations in Santa Catarina and Minas Gerais and is planning a new POC in Portugal.

“ShiftT is not one more accelerator in the market. Among its competitive advantages is our connection with Tupy, which allows startups to access all skills, channels, and opportunities provided by the group, furthering an environment of cooperation focused on the generation of business for both the startup and Tupy”, says Daniel Moraes, Head of Innovation and Digital Transformation at Tupy.

Other startups already accelerated by ShiftT include Green Fuel, the creator of a system for combustion engines that reduces gas emissions and fuel consumption by using hydrogen; Hedro, which develops technologies to prepare industrial, commercial, and rural environments with intelligent wireless sensors; and Pix Force, which offers artificial intelligence-based computer vision and machine view, and machine learning solutions.

Similar to the first cycle, to register, the startup needs to fit into one of the following business fronts:

  • Business Synergy: solutions that propose significant innovation and that can be quickly scaled with Tupy’s support;
  • Sustainable Development: economically feasible businesses that create positive social and environmental impact;
  • Digital and Industry 4.0: creation of value based on the application of emerging technologies that can boost Tupy’s digital transformation journey;
  • Innovative Business Models: initiatives that propose new ways to address the challenges faced in Tupy’s value chains. The selected entrepreneurs will receive exclusive and individual mentoring from around 30 company professionals with experience in the most diverse areas of knowledge.

“The registrations opened in this cycle for startups from other countries are in line with the diversity we have been trying to imprint on the initiative since the last edition, when we were very proud to support companies from different Brazilian regions led by entrepreneurs with very distinct histories and profiles but who have the sparkle in their eyes and energy to innovate in common”, adds Daniel.
